form-driven designs
leather arm chair
Form Inspiration:
While studying abroad in Denmark (at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen), I was inspired by the minimalist style and attention to detail of Scandinavian furniture designers Poul Kjaerholm and Arne Jacobson. The design of this chair is based around the simple key feature of a double bar armrest; which allows the arm to lay between two parallel steel tubes set 1 cm apart.
Materials & Production:
The body of the chair is 25mm steel tube, with 10mm steel bar supports. In contrast to the coldness of the steel, all surfaces that come in contact with the person are a warm red leather.
