The Goal (Sima Products Corporation):
To design an emergency device, to be placed in a dormitory, that informs and instructs students during a variety of potential campus emergencies.

The Gist:
This radio turns on automatically and is able to continually broadcast up-to-date information into every dorm room on campus.
     In the event of a gunman or severe weather warning, the device will project blue light on the wall, immediately informing students to stay in the safety of their own room and await further instructions. If the device projects orange, all residents are asked to evacuate; each roommate can eject a radio cartridge- thus continue receiving information, and are able to use that cartridge as an LED flashlight as well.
     The device always displays the current outside temperature as an indicator that the device is on, as well as better prepare students for their evacuation.
